The shape of the canvas drawn by Lee In-hyeon is an unusual rectangle. The work is a continuous screen with a delicate layer, not a monochromatic uniform plane. The sequential process steps in which the paint penetrates the rectangular canvas does not simply mean a single layer of paint. It is a constantly changing fluid scene and the process by which our perceptions are generated.
Lee In-hyeon received his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, College of Fine Arts, and master’s degree in art research as well as Ph.D. from the Tokyo University. He has had more than 20 solo exhibitions at home and abroad and participated in many group exhibitions. His works are collected in many institutions such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Busan Museum of Art, Art Sonje Center and the British Museum.
